Miami is home to a wide range of modern architectural styles, many of them inspired by the city's tropical climate and vibrant culture. One notable example of modern architecture in Miami is the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), which was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and opened in 2013. The museum features a sleek, minimalist design with a white exterior and large windows that provide natural light to the interior spaces. The building is situated in the Museum Park, overlooking Biscayne Bay and the city's skyline. The beautiful beaches, artistic community and lush landscapes have been inspiring architects here for decades. And it's not just houses... Miami has famously modern and luxurious condo towers built by a "who's who" list of famous architects. In the older neighborhoods you'll find older mid-century modern homes and homes with those clean lines that define the "Florida Modern" style. Along the water are 80's contemporary homes and new modern mansions that make the most of bringing in the surroundings to blur the line between being indoor and out. New construction modern homes are going up around the Miami/Dade area and even out in the distant suburbs.
